BODIES OF WORK > (DANCING) WHILE THE SUN GOES DOWN
(DANCING) WHILE THE SUN GOES DOWN , 2020 é um díptico de corpos dançantes em grande escala, congelados no tempo. Inspirados pelo ritual de dançar à luz do pôr do sol, são obras que registam uma transição da fotografia para a pintura. Ao analisar de perto, conseguimos ver as diferentes camadas que constituem a superfície, desde o uso de fotografia impressa, colagem, à pintura e ao desenho, para obter este efeito ecléctico, texturado e pop. São as primeiras sementes da minha pesquisa sobre corpos queer e um interesse em trabalhar essa temática na arte.
(DANCING) WHILE THE SUN GOES DOWN , 2020 is a large-scale diptych depicting dancing bodies frozen in time. Inspired by the ritual of dancing in the sunset, these works register a transition from photography to painting. Upon a closer look, one can distinguish the various layers that make up the surface, ranging from printed photography, collage to painting and drawing, creating an eclectic, textured, and "pop" effect. These pieces represent the initial seeds of my research into queer bodies and my interest in exploring this theme through art.
